My computer speakers pop sometimes…?

I recently bought the Logitech LS21 2.1 Stereo Speaker System for my desktop and every once in a while there will be a light popping sound. I haven’t lost sound or had any volume issues, it just worries me that there’s that popping sound and the remote volume control smells like it might be running hot. I haven’t had problems with it either and it doesn’t smell like it’s burning. I’m just concerned…
Anyone have this system or know something I might not?
It DOESN’T smell like it’s burning, just as if it’s hot but it’s not.
