, I bet you a HUGE amount of that 100% of profits going back into the company goes to the MARKETING department. And that’s the thing; through very aggressive marketing, and pricing their stuff very high, they’ve been able to convince people that their stuff is really good. … Paradigm Cinema Monitor ADP Loudspeaker Speaker PDR-10 DSP-3100 Subwoofer Yamaha RX-V665 Receiver Amplifier Amp Logitech Harmony One Surround Sound System Bose Lifestyle 48 28 V20 Acoustimass Jewel Cube Direct-Reflect …

Also, there’s brands out there that cost much, much more than B&O. Wilson Audio’s WATT/Puppies are $25,000, and still need an amp, which could run you from $5000 for a 2-channel Classe amp, to a pair of $20,000 Classe monoblock amps. And, you’d need a pair of subs to be equal to the B&O Beolab 5s. 2 JL Audio 13 in. Fathoms would be about $7500, or better yet one Gotham, which is $12,000.

And, it can go so much higher. Wilson’s MAXXs are $70,000/pair, and their Alexandrias are $150,000.

It may be too late, but what other brands have you heard that you’ve compare Bose to in your mind?

If you want to know what I think, I think you should go check out another brand before you buy a Bose system. You just might change your mind.

But, if you choose to keep your Bose system, I know someone who got one of those Acoustimass systems along with a real subwoofer to make up for those low notes the Acoustimass module can’t play. I’d suggest you do the same.

I honestly don’d know how old the acoustamass 25 is, But you some how read my mind as i have ordered the biggest acoustamass the 16 with 6. 1 and i’m thinking along the lines of onkyo 607 but the reciver will have to wait a while due to $ problems i plan to hook it up to my asus lap as it has blueray and hdmi out so all in all it should work out fairly good I hope i can make it happen soon, Would like to show you and se what you think but till then i guess i goto wait

  • falkenlaser

That’s very true; everyone does have their own taste in sound.

How old is the Acoustimass 25 you got? The highest model they make now is the 16. I’m guessing yours is an older model (the Lifestyle 48 used to be the Lifestyle 50). What I’m going to say about these Acoustimass systems is that if you have to have Bose, get those instead with a nice receiver that has 4 HDMI inputs, and Dolby TrueHD. Your system will sound better than and be more capable than any Lifestyle or V system Bose makes.

I meant it is bull shit in that scene that a person can not define what is digital and what is analogue just by free listening I know what you are trying to do with your videos and its o. k but im just saying that a sound system should be bought on the basis on how it sounds to the individual and not everyone has the same taste in sound.

I’m not defending Bose nor am i criticizing digital i hope you understand what I’m trying to say

  • falkenlaser

Heck, the only fully analog source still in use is vinyl (hence why many audiophiles spend tons of money on turntables and high-quality records). CDs, DVD, SACDs (which are super-high quality CDs; possibly the best sound quality you could get), Blu-Ray, iPod, computers, are ALL digital sources; the music is in 1s and 0s. It’s converted to analog via a Digital-to-Analog converter (DAC), which every pre-amp and receiver has.

Seriously, where did you get the idea that digital audio is bullshit?

  • falkenlaser

Yeah what about B&O? I own their A8 Earphones, which sound excellent. But, I’ve had two pairs break so far (I just got my third pair a few days ago, and they’re WHITE. They look amazing!) Oh BTW, they aren’t fake; I got them directly from the dealer.

But, except the Beolab 5, B&O’s stuff is more about looks than really good sound quality. It wouldn’t surprise me if the $500/pair Paradigm Mini-Monitors with a good amp would sound just as good or better than all of B&O’s < or = $5000 speakers.

    @falkenlaser bang olufsen

Well that’s fine you like it. However, many people buy Bose without thinking twice. I’m trying to open up people’s minds to other brands [they may never have heard of], and encourage them not to just go buy a Bose system because that’s all they’ve heard is good.

Also, what do you mean digital is bullshit? While yes, analog does sound better, in order to have surround sound, you HAVE to have digital, for that’s how it works (hence the name “Dolby Digital”, which decodes surround sound codecs).

  • kalosanin

I just bought a bose acoustamass 25 second hand (got a good deal) plain and simple i like the way it sounds nothing else, I don’t care if the cones are made out of paper or that the bass module has mids in it or that it has no hdmi it doesn’t really matter. What matters in the end is what appeals to your ears, People can only hearer analog anyway so theirs no need to spend money on digital its just bullshit

  • falkenlaser

Probably because it’d make him feel bad

  • murder00redrum

Haha he clearly didn’t even watch the video.

  • falkenlaser

Why would you say I cant afford Bose when this system costs the SAME? I don’t like Bose “because I can’t afford it. ” I don’t like it because I can get much better sound for the same price.

BTW the highest-end surround system this dealer stocks right now is about $15,000, and the most expensive one they could get would be about $50,000. Check out my video titled “A Note to Bose Speaker Fans. ” If money matters so much to you, then buy these systems so you really have something to brag about.

  • boxingfat

    he cant afford it. . . . . TRAMP

  • andersonjjj333

Im in agreement with you for 2 grand i would like an onkyo 607 or pioneer 1019 infinty p252 or p362 infinity sub or something from paradigm or klipsch or cerwin-vega. Nice prices youre showing there better than Bose quality for lower prices if you want check out my system
